Magnesium Wheels

We've all heard about how much difference switching to magnesium wheels makes.   About how losing 10 or 12 pounds of unsprung weight makes an open class bike feel like a 600.  Well, I can't really say much about that yet.  I just received the wheels back from being powder coated white.  They look great, exactly like Marvic Penta 2s.  (I suspect they are exactly the same as Penta 2s, but can't find much information either way.)

I hope to have these wheels shod with sticky new Michelin Pilot Sports by this spring.   You'll just have to come back to find out if they make as much difference as everyone says!

Want to learn more?  You're out of luck -- I couldn't find any information about these wheels on the Internet.  I know they're made in Italy specifically for the Japanese market, but not much beyond that.  Please drop me an e-mail if you have any more information.  Thanks!

The pictures shown here were taken by the previous owner.  I had them powder coated white to match the bike.  I'll post a few post-powder coating pictures in the near future.
