Seat cowls are a frequent topic of conversation on the Thunderace list, and after
installing one on my own bike I can understand why. The cowl replaced the
rear, pillion, seat with a fiberglass enclosure that matches the YZF1000's lines
perfectly. At the front of the cowl, there's even a nifty, race-style,
"butt-bump" pad. Unlike solo tail sections, you can remove the cowl as
easily as you could the stock seat. This allows easy storage access, and is a very
nice feature if you need to switch between the cowl and seat frequently. The only
small complaint I have with my cowl is that the pearlescent white paint doesn't quite
match. It's close, but not quite perfect.
As a side note, Pyramid
Plastics was very easy to deal with -- just called them up with a credit card and the
painted tail section arrived a week later. Everything should be this easy!
